Peugeot’s strategy to move upmarket continues with the addition of a new GT version of the 3008, based on the previous top of the range Allure model. In addition to the spec of the Allure the GT gets a model specific front bumper full LED lighting and a specific grille, ‘Black Diamond’ roof as standard, and double chrome exhausts pipes. Inside the GT gets copper topstitching on the trim, and like the other 3008’s in the range the second generation i-Cockpit which places the steering wheel below a raised instrument panel.
More importantly the GT has the new 2.0L Blue Hdi 180 S&S engine, which will be exclusive to the GT model. The engine develops an obvious 180PS, which translates into 132kW. That should make for a pretty good drive through the six-speed automatic transmission. The 3008 GT will be launched in October this year, but there’s no mention on when the New Zealand version will be available
